"The power of a glance has been so much abused in love stories, that it has come to be disbelieved in. Few people dare now to say that two beings have fallen in love because they have looked at each other. Yet it is in this way that love begins, and in this way only."

Cave of the Winds, Manitou Springs, Colorado.
Legend has it that two sisters, being old maids somewhere around the age of 20, asked if they could each leave a hairpin on a ledge in the cave. A year later, they returned, both happily married to wealthy young men. Since then, visitors to the caves have eagerly left their own contributions hoping to have the same luck. It now forms a massive cluster of hairpins and coins suspended from one of the cave walls. (Photo 3)
I have some better pictures of the cave formations, but they’re on my other camera and I forgot to bring my USB cable on the trip.
This will be the first of several photosets from my adventure in Colorado. More to come. I’ll do my best to space them out.
